SRC???

Postby Spitfire » Thu Aug 16, 2012 7:18 pm

I've done my research and have heard that SRC is apparently the "Systema" of MPEGs.

Does anybody have any bad stories of SRC as to avoid me from buying from the company?? Or are their guns really what people say they are...?

Apparently the externals are nice, but the internals are pretty terrible.

If you Google them and look under Discussions, then you'll see some of the reviews and thoughts on them. I'd personally go with a bigger brand.

I would suggest buying a G&G combat machine. The combat machine has a polymer body, and is very sturdy.

For the same price of a SRC, you could buy a G&G Combat machine that is highly regarded around AP. I owned one for some time, and it was great. Feeds all kinds of mags too. They're considered one of the best starter/low cost guns you can get.

If you don't like the design, just look around ASGI for different variants. Some are black and have RIS's and some are tan.

Call the surgeons and tell them to take the day off, because I'll be doing all the operating now.

There's a point where this needs to stop, and we've clearly passed it

well, a team mate of mine owns this one

http://www.airsoftmegastore.com/4313-SRC-GE-0504TM-II-FULLMETAL-SRC-Gen-II-FULL-METAL-Airsoft-M4-RIS-Full-Metal-Gearbox-AEG-Rifle-w-Retractable-Crane-Stock-And-Metal-Integrated-Rail-System-RIS-Enhanced-Gen-II-SR4-Series.aspx

I have used it in a few rounds. Honostly, it is average in every respect. It's a middle of the road M4. Nothing particularly stands out about it feature wise. It performs good enough and is fairly durable but, for the price or just a bit more, I would at least be looking at a G&G C/M before one of these.

2 cents worth.

The thing is, I really wont want an M4. Especially a G&G C/M, I kind of wanted something unqiue. I can think of 5 people on my team that have M4s, and AKs, but one one who has a G36, so I was kind of looking at this model:

https://www.evike.com/product_info.php? ... s_id=39078

It has steel gears, and metal bushings. That, and I will be doing a shimmy/re-lube after a couple games.

Does this change anything?? or..?

It is what it is - an SRC. If the G36 is your thing cool. I would get adapter for it so you can use M4 mags though.

If you want to be unique, put unusual or uncommon attachments on an M4. Having your gun fail because its internals are crap sucks, even if you look special doing it.

+1 for G&G.

poebot you are not helping anyone giving vague descriptions such as "nice" and "pretty terrible", and derailing the topic by telling people to buy a G&G. you obviously do not have experience with the topic so don't post shit in the first place.

SRC is made in taiwan. the externals are not the best if you compare it to the G&G but are a lot better than the china made guns. in general SRC guns are about one step above chinese guns so if you want something that is slightly better than a JG or dboys; SRC is a decent brand to look into(apart from the SRC AKs, CYMA is still the best at making AKs).
here is a review on the SRC G36 vs JG G36

about reshimming/lubing; like all AEGs if you want it to last don't open the gearbox until something breaks.

Valid points I did not consider. You learn something new everyday. Although I own a JG M4 that I will swear by and a DBoys SCAR that is tough as hell, it may be that SRC is a vialable alternative for those not in the market for a G&G.

I own this SRC Rifle:https://www.evike.com/product_info.php?products_id=33647

You can read it's features on the link. My opinion about owning this gun is that i love the look and externals of the gun. But this on lacks in ROF due to a high torque motor with a gearbox only pulling 390 maximum. Other than that, I love my gun because i shot it before i bought it.

+1 to my SRC 8)
