JG AUG A3 shooting problem

Hey guys, Evike just delivered my new AUG two or three days ago, and its having a weird shooting problem. It shoots just fine on full auto, but on semi, it shoots the first shot and then dry fires until I go full auto again. Can somebody help me figure out what the problem is?

That just screams of feeding issues. What troubleshooting have you done (no pun intended)?

I took the mag apart and sprayed some compressed air over it. I also had played with the hop-up a pittle bit, but that's not the problem

I got a new mag (a MAG 170rd mid-cap) and it's still not feeding. I have used silicon oil in the mag and in the hop-up and it refuses to shoot on semi. The gearbox cycles, but no BB comes out. On full auto, it shoots but it dry fires quite a bit. I need this problem fixed because I spent over $450 dollars on this piece of shit and if it doesn't work, I'm screwed.

Have you contacted evike? You should have a 14 day warranty on your purchase, if you feel that the gun is having problems send it back. I bought a G&P m4a1 from evike and when I received the gun the gear box was completely locked up.. I sent it back after having it for two weeks of the original purchase date and they sent me a new G&P. Good luck.

Warranty over and voided. I did contact Evike twice but they didn't respond either time which pisses me off quite a bit.

Have you tried calling them? Sometimes calling them is sometimes faster then emailing them.

If your warranty is up, have an Airsmith look at it and see if they can fix it. To me it sounds like a feeding problem. I've had the same problem with my 416 that you discribed with your AUG. Check if your hopup is straight and flush with the gear box. If the hopUp is facing slightly down it cuases the BB to not feed right. If this is not your problem then check your mags one more time. Becuase this just might be your mags doing this. MidCaps will always have a feeding problem during there frist few times being used. Test you gun with a Highcap, and see if you have the same problem.

Also check the alignment between the feeding tube and the bottom of the hop up. Shine a light in there with the mag out and check to see if there is a straight shot through. Tolerances aren't great on Chinese guns in general, barrel assembly may not be pushed far back enough. Or it could be more Evike shenanigans with reselling used or broken guns as new. If its not this, there is likely something wrong with the tappet plate or sector gear.

Is the ASN retracting far enough back to feed? I have had a number of problems (Tappet Plate, ASN too long, Cylinder Head too long) with a V2 gearbox whereas the nozzle was not pulling back far enough to permit the pellet to feed up into the hopup. At times this was thought to be a Magazine problems, because a Hi-Cap or Mid-Cap with a strong spring that helped force the pellet up past the ASN and would improve matters. To diagnose or temporarily alleviate the problem I put layers of tape on the front of the gearbox where the hop up pushes against to increase the spacing. If this couldn't remedy it, I looked closer to the Mag/Hopup Feed Tube as an issue. When creating this spacer you should see some loss of FPS(poor seal), but feeding should be flawless like you would expect.

All AUGs can have this type of feeding issue. Bigfoot used to have a video on YouTube about how to fix the AUG's feeding issues. The tube that the mag feeds into in the back of the gun needs to be gently sanded and buffed with a Dremel on the inside. Make sure you don't apply a lot of pressure, and buff the feeding tube generously.
