4x32 Scope on an aeg

Postby Butterrz » Thu Sep 20, 2012 6:35 pm

Hi all,

I am very new to airsoft and am awaiting my first game in a few weeks. I recently received my JG mk36c in the mail and I'm excited to use it. I was just wondering if it's normal to mount a 4v32 scope onto an aeg such as mines, or is that kind of weird?

I ask because I have a spare scope from a pellet gun that I don't fire anymore. Thanks in advance.

This is the best 4x32 I have ever used, much better then most airsoft ACOGs on the market.

Yeah go ahead, I've seen many guys here on AP use scopes like that. I used to role with one just like the one in the picture. Before I switch to a normal red dot with no Zoom at all. Also the US military use the Trijicon TA31RCO ACOG for there M4/M16 which so happens to be 4x32. So you can't go wrong putting it on a G36C.

It would look something like this I'm guessing.

The Army issued TA31 is complete poop.

I believe it's the Chevron sight with BAC.

TA31RCO (Rifle Combat Optic?) 4x32

The tritium is nice, but the sight relief is poop. It says eye relief is 1.5 but It feels closer than that. Which is why I like (in real life) the Elcan M145, which the Canadians use on their main M4 and M16 battle rifles (America seems to only use it on the M249 SAWs occasionally, and most notably/usually the M240B Machine Guns).

But the Airsoft ElcanM145 is really poop. The real one is nice, but expensive, and also very heavy (rubberized. Very sturdy)

The best optic I've found for the airsoft rifles and repros would be the SpecterDR. They have versions that go from a lower power up to 4x, or some that just stay at 4x. I really like the objective (size of lens near your eye--helps me quite a bit for target acquisition quickly, and also for ease of use) on the Elcans.

Elcan is a real company. Makes Specter DR as well as the M145. Both good scopes in real life. ACOG makes better options than the TA31 issued to troops, but I hate the small reticle size and short sight relief. But the weight is much less and helps keep a balanced rifle. I'd probably use a TA33 with doctor sight if given an option.

Very common. I use a 3X flip scope to go with my red dot. Sometimes I don't use it at all but it's handy for looking a little closer than I normally can.

X4 scopes aren't to shabby, allows you to perfectly to check your target and make sure the person you're shooting at is the bad guy. BUT if you are actually getting a a G36c, I can say the range isn't to grand on them stock. They are nice gun, don't get me wrong, but I think getting a x4 on a compact gun that has a small barrel length wouldn't be worth it. You might be better off getting a red dot for it if you decide to keep it stock, which is what I did.

IMO it's kind of a waste. You can do just fine with iron sights, and you can always just watch where the BBs are going. I had a big a$$ scope on my AEG when I was a newb but I ditched that thing after the first couple games. It blocked my iron sights and it gave me tunnel vision.
