Izhmash AK-74M Airsoft Rifle

Izhmash has designed an airsoft version of AK-74M. The press release seems to indicate that they designed it and will be manufacturing it. Most gun companies just license the name to an Asian manufacturer. The dimensions and weight will be the same as the real AK-74M.

Monille Kalashnikov faneille tuttu logo airsoftin puolellakin, mm. AK-74 lippaista nuoli kolmion sisällä, on alkujaan tuliasepuolelta tutun Izhmashin tuotemerkki.

Interesting but at this time will it be cleared to be sold in the united states?
Edit: My concerns are over if the receiver is just going to be a de-milled surplus material. Or is going to be purpose built for airsoft. These may end up like the earlier models and be declared firearms by the ATF.
Edit agian: What odds are you willing to give that palco sues izhmash over the right to produce AK style rifles?

Softly necroed.

Izhmash released a teaser video of the Ak-74. If you watch all the way through they also announce some upcoming products as well. The rumor mill is stating that it may cost around 800 dollars (possibly more).

Hot damn.
It's beautiful!
It looks really really good, and with that high price (higher than a real AK) probably coveted by all. Looks sick though.

What I'm hoping for is that they release the AN-94 that they teased at the end of the video.
Edit: Most Ak's that are available in the united states are not Russian built. They are mostly Bulgarian or Romanian, which means a lower quality and are a inferior product.

To be honest, owning an Airsoft item with Izhmash trademark is best dream ever.
Especially if Izhmash decides to throw more of its products onto the market. Such as the AN-94 (God please), AEK series (possibly), and the OTs Groza (fate be willing).
I'd tell you to be careful. It's not the Tank you need to fear.

At the end of the teaser video they have announced the An-94. They also announced a SVD and a PP-19.

You've set off a chain reaction within my soul that is best compared to as 'happiness'.

What you have described isn't happiness. It's called a "nerdgasm." It is a beautiful thing is it not?

It is.
It'll evolve into a wargasm as soon as it becomes reality and I finally get that AK-74m for the RR loadout.

Careful with nerdgasms they can arise for very strange things.

My latest have included: Klingons, opera, Izhmash, and that goth loli style.

Something thats been burning on a back burner in my mind is one thing. The AN-94 magazine is at an angle. How are they going to make sure that it feeds correctly into the hop up chamber?

Izhmash might come up with something cool to address the problem.
Knowing them it'll be.. not all that creative. But we'll have to wait and see.

Izhmash not creative? AN-94 not innovative enough? You don't need a rifle that can place 2 rounds in the same place? You don't want a rifle that shoots quietly without a suppressor? You don't need to both a bayonet and a grenade launcher on your rifle AT THE SAME TIME?
NO! Why cause it looks like an AK? Is the ACR not creative? It's nothing more than an AR-15 with a monolithic rail and the simply more reliable gas piston system.

And that's not even the beginning of it. There's a ton of neat designs that never reached full production, like the AK-107. Although I think Tula came up with neater designs thanks to German Korobov (Three barrel, three action, three magazine rifle? I WANT ONE.)

My attempt at sarcasm failed :3
I'm sure the Airsoft version will just be as innovative as the real deal.
I'm not an ACR guy personally. If I had to pick my favorite NATO weapon, I'd go with the SCAR-H, be happy, and shoot away all ACR peeps.
