I could make a run out to Splat and inspect the field and give an honest opinion.

Paintballers anywhere on the property is unacceptable when airsofters are present.

As a event promoter your only as good as your last game.

Some 50 player games are better than 300 player games.

Grid 18 rocked. But OP: Gallant Sabre 2 was epic.

I would love to have an airsofter's opinion, especially one who has seen the field in the past and knows what it once was to compare it too.
Maybe some new pictures would be nice.

Also... OP Grid 18 was only 188 players. OP Solomon's Pass was 400+. That was overkill for that field, Grid 18 is about the perfect size for an event there. I'm not saying games with more players are better, I'm just emphasizing that it's kind of ridiculous that even when we do have that many players - they'd still run paintball on top of our games.

Hey guys, this is John Vida, the owner of Splat Action LLC. I have reviewed the three pages of comments regarding my
hosting Airsoft events. I would like to address some of the concerns.
First, in the past, I did try to have both airsofters and a few small private groups of paintballers on the same day. This did not work out well, and so I have decided to only allow airsofters on the property on the days airsoft events are being offered. Our website is currently under construction, but once it is launched, our calendar will note the days of the airsoft events with a banner stating that the field is closed for paintball the entire day.
Second, I acknowledge that some of the field elements were lacking in repair and upkeep. We are currently in the process of completely rebuilding Khe San and other fortifications that require attention. We appreciate your input regarding structures or other improvements that may need repair.
I have also discussed your concerns regarding Mr. Collier Collins as a director for airsoft events. He is enthusiastic and well-knowledged not only about paintball, but also airsoft. He has and continues to do his homework to insure a great event. If you find that there are areas that need to be addressed, do not hesitate to post or comment in some manner, so we can all work together to our common goal of merely hosting the most fantastic airsoft events possible.
After 27 years in business focusing primarily on paintball, I am excited to offer our field for a monthly airsoft-only event. I have found that the airsofters are an organized and structured group that promotes interesting scenarios and a fun environment for its players. I look forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship with the airsoft community.
I am also looking for volunteers who might be willing to assist in structure repair. Or, if anyone has materials that would be suitable to our field maintenance and improvement, please call so I can discuss this with you.
HOPEFULLY, WE WILL SEE YOU ALL ON NOVEMBER 2-3, 2013!!!

*clap*

Thanks, John.

If he's willing to try it, we should, too. Unfortunately, I can't do the November dates--it's duck season.

Well that is good enough for me, I'll be there for the November Game.

I just put as much detail as I care to about the upcoming game at Splat Action into the events calendar. More detail will be given out during the team briefings prior to game start.

Entry fee is $30 per person whether you plan on playing on both days or on just one.
Camping is free
Raffle is free
Bring your own supplies (there will be some basic supplies on hand for sale but in general for this event you would be better served by bringing your own)

The night game
Code name: Eagle Eyes

Schedule for Saturday 2nd.
3:30 to 4:00 field is cleared of paintballers and prepared for the night game
4:00 to 6:00 registration and camping sites and team assignments
6:00 All player safety briefing followed by team briefings
6:30 Teams enter the field and take up their positions
6:45 Game start
9:45 Game end

The Main Mission
Code name: Eagle Down

Schedule for Sunday 3nd.
9:00 to 10:30 registration and team assignments
10:30 All player safety briefing followed by team briefings
11:00 Teams enter the field and take up their positions
11:15 Game start
5:00 Game end
5:30 Raffle

I am still looking for some good experienced leaders to general both the night and day games. You can call me direct at 503-706-2923 if interested. – Collier

Collier - you might have better exposure for your event if you instead post Eagle Down in the Pacific Northwest Events forum, paste all of your details there, then click on the "associate event" tab at the bottom below the submit button to set the event date. Then your event will show on the calendar and the forums, every time somebody replies your topic will stay bumped up to the top of everyone's list of unread posts.

I'm absolutely excited for this. I hope in the future we can get more of a heads up as my team lives in the northern most section of the Olympic Peninsula. We've made the trip to Splat Action twice for faction wars with AP and both times we left saying that it was the best game we'd ever played.

Honestly... I'd feel better about an experienced game host(Riddick, Zeus/Matt, BSP) having a game there. It takes more than a field to have a good game. Best of luck to you. If it doesn't suck, I might come out for the next one.

If I had time, I would. I've wanted to setup another game at Splat for quite some time now, like I said I miss that field. But it won't be any time soon for me, too busy.
