Interest Survey

Postby Eyes On » Tue Mar 01, 2005 1:31 pm

If we could find someone qualified to give a course in any Airsoft related subject, what courses would you like to see offered?

Here are some ideas that I'm working on, please don't limit your answers to the items I have below:

1. Scout Sniper and Basic Reconaissance course.
2. Designated Marksman.
3. Land Navigation.
4. Basic Rifleman and Infantry Skills Course.
5. Replica Maintnance.
6. Developing team SOP
7. Airsoft 101.
8. Introduction and advanced CQC.

We've got a cadre of experienced Military and Law Enforcement types, as well as some Airsoft Subject Matter Experts, as well as a number of connections outside of the community that could be called upon to give classes on just about any subject. Your suggestions will be much appreciated.

I like the matenance and CQC ideas. What about an upgrading course? So people can save money by installing their own parts instead of paying their dealer.
Airsoft is a brotherhood, remember how you treated your brothers? Seran Wrap on the toilet seat, putting his hand in warm water while he slept, IcyHot in the jock strap. You are all my brothers, now stay out of my room.

I think that'd be folded into #5, but it's a good reminder for course content.

I think infantry and landnav stuff is a must. Maybe it's not as "1337" as those other things, but a lot of people could learn a lot from it. I think it would enrich the outdoor milsim games a lot if the community were up to speed on more tactics.

I lack the time/patience to addequately teach any of the other classes (too many idiots who dont want to invest the time in the fundamentals for me to waste my time with).

I will have nothing to do with a "replica maintanance" class, but I am damn good at Gun Repair/Upgrading. If there is a Gun Repair/Upgrading Class, I would be willing to teach that.

Amatuers study tactics. Professionals study logistics.

It would be nice if people were willing to pull their heads clear of their Third Point Of Contact for long enough to endure a weekend of Land Navigation, and other Fundamental Skills of a Soldier. If a solid crew can be assembled, I would consider attending (depending on location, costs, etc).

Airsoft Maitenance for sure...

Basic Soldiering would be good as well...

I'm all for the basic soldiering skills. You need to crawl before you run.

how about 'Purging the Unclean with Scourge and Incinerator'?

seriously, though- a bit of brush-up on basic soldiering never hurts the vets, and seems to be the most often overlooked.

I'd like to help teach a class on the automatic rifleman and his duties and responsibilities in a fire team and squad. I'd also like to help teach the basic recon / scout sniper course, but I need to finish completing them first. :)

How about a advance infantry course like a ranger course.

How about a cooking class? Clean up your campground class?
