Also, paintball paint is vegetable oil based, or at least used to be and I'm too lazy to look it up. I don't want that on my clothes ever again. It's bad enough when some gets on me when I'm playing at splat action and I'm all "oh d**nit, f**king paintball."
See I feel it's that feeling in people that's holding parts of airsoft back. I agree I don't like paintball. But for something like this it's the best way. If allowed you could start simulating explosions at a range. We can't lob a grenade out range and blow it up like an M203 round. But we can lob a paint round that blows up (from impact on the ground) and sprays a bit of red "paint". It's safe, and it allows for a lot of the parts of real war (RPGs, m203s and other grenade launchers, tanks, anti tank weapons, tanks and mortars) to become truth rather than fantasy. 6mm rounds (Hell even 8mm) can't replicate these. You can use nerf "rounds" (footballs etc) but they don't replicate a splatter or kill range as well as a paint would. And would do more damage if a person was hit by accident.
I wouldn't want it any color but blood red (none of that neon crap) and I'd want it washed off the field etc after a game. But I would be okay with paint on gear. So long as it came off with baby wipes or something simple like that (and as I said did no damage to camo).
