Postby Tanto » Mon Jul 05, 2010 6:16 pm

its okay, i will look forward to more updates and the such.

I think you should have covered the basic Bounding movement instead of the the "Flanking" movment, as the Straight bounding is a good move with a good amount of supporting fire. you can also use the bounding to flank.

A lot of people think its easy to lead frog, it gets easier with people that you have practiced with, but when you get a group of people that havent played or practiced together, then leap frog/bounding forward in groups more than 2(Battle Buddies) gets out of order and the fire team gets KIA very quick.

When you have 4-5 people bounding up on a target or Enemy position its gets really hard to kill the adancing force when there are 1-2 laying fire and 1-2 moving up. a chant that we in PLA have been taught to help us when bounding is 'I'm up, He See's me, I'm down" when you hit the ground, fire onto target. once the next unit or pair have finished bounding, they lay fire and you move. Bounding of each unit should not be done in more than 3 second lengths.

Good work, but i think basic Bounding movements should have been covered rather than the "Paintball Flank move" that iv'e seen fail almost any time.

The only reason i call it a fail, as there isn't anyone covering the flanking unit in his red zone as he moves up, so even if you have two guys covering form the front, the defending position can just wait and get the angle on him first as he is ready to shoot. If you have two units bounding, then he wont have the advantage of getting a lucky shot on him becasue that angle is being covered. He will soon be over run in matter of a few seconds, rather than the method of having people move from tree to tree.

I hope this makes sense as its so much easier to explain with people on field.

Looking forward to more updates!

The narrative is good, but hand gestures and quick video clips are insufficient as visual representation. Rock some powerpoint animation or something so the visual learners can see the different elements in action. I know it'll be alot more work than gearing up and standing in a woodland setting, but the end product will be much more helpful.

Also, it would help if you had some cool Hadji Opfor guys and a few team mates (Fire team, 4 units)

1-2 Opfor would be all that you need.

Thanks for the tips! I do have an issue getting extra people to make it out. I'm in South Dakota, and there's only 20 airsofters within 50 miles.

Especially thanks to the powerpoint idea. I was wondering how to put in animations...

Well, if you can't find additional people, you can play multiple roles (like you already did), and split screen it.

Showing one you forced to stay low as another you puts fire on his position and yet another you moves around to get the angle on him.

Thanks for the continued input.

Does anyone have some video editing experience that can help teach me how to do this? I'm still new to the editing side of this...

Why is the audio so janky in both videos?

Mostly it's the bad video editing program. The camera does have a little to blame as well as the wonderful South Dakota wind.

I'm on the search for a better program, but my finances are tight due to all of my monies belonging to airsoft...

Cool videos. I'm sure they'll be a big help to a lot of players.

Thanks!

I'm always open to suggestions, tips, etc., especially in terms of improving the quality of the videos. If you know video-editing and can help on something, please do!

Thanks! It's good to hear that people are able to use them.

I'm thinking this week's episode will probably be about camouflaging, maybe. I'm still making up my mind...
