I'd advise just going with a Madbull M4 tightbore barrel.

Dees wrote:The trick is to try and make the cylinder and barrel air volume match, or to keep the cylinder volume slightly higher then the barrel volume. To make this as simple as possible, if you are using a M4 cylinder in your gun, you have roughly a air volume of 17193.024mm (measured with a digital caliper, accounting for cylinder head penetration and using the equation provided here http://www.mathsteacher.com.au/year9/ch ... linder.htm)
Now, if you take a stock 363mm/14.25" M4 inner barrel and measure it out (which requires a micrometer, since calipers are not precise enough at that size), you will find a wide range of differences in their inner diameter, but the average is about 6.10mm, so again, to use the same volume equation, you get a result of 10609.929165mm. This indicates a difference of 6583.094835mm, with the cylinder being larger then the barrel volume.
In English, this means that the BB is actually still accellerating as it leaves the barrel, so you have wasted potential velocity and range in this design. You can use a longer barrel with the stock inletted cylinder to provide more range, accuracy and velocity to this gun.
Personal experience with upgrading M4s with TBBs, I have found that upgrading with a 455mm length 6.01mm barrel will give the average M4 another 35-45fps, typically increase range by about 50-75' and cut your groupings more then in half for accuracy, so I would say just buy the barrel and go with it.

With the longer barrel you will see about 3 to 4 more fps, about a 5 to 7% increase in range and accuracy. I wouldn't put in a 6.03 unless you were strapped for cash. 6.01 is a big jump in performance vs a 6.03. It may not seem like it, but it's been proven several times.
One thing about the Aluminum barrels that seem to be flooding the market lately. When you get a BB jam in an aluminum barrel and you accidentally fire one or two more rounds the barrel can warp. This is the reason several companies choose to use Steel or Brass. In addition the black oxide coating that is on most aluminum barrels can and will eventually flake off, leaving you with garbage.

Whoops, for some reason I was thinking AK barrels were ~400 not 455mm.And I still wouldn't bother with a longer barrel because he would still have to change out for a proper cylinder and buy a silencer.

I would also agree that a 6.01 would be a better choice than a 6.03 barrel, but sometimes people can’t afford a $50 barrel, so Madbull barrels are a pretty good bang for your buck. And just BTW, I think Madbull fixed the flaking barrel coating with their V.2 barrels- although I’m not completely sure about that.
