1. You're new. There's people playing airsoft that have been doing it way longer than you. Watch how they play, and try to emulate that as best you can. You don't have to be their tag-a-long super-buddy, but stick with a squad you like without getting in their way and learn how they fight. Try to fit in. Eventually, you probably will. When you've learned all you can from these folks, start the process over with a different group that plays even better.
On a related note, not everyone knows hand signals. I know some, but mostly for giving orders when moving with a team such as "double time," "form a staggered line," "get down," "rally on me," and "get down and seek cover".Ivan Daylovich wrote:Another tip: I know you may like hand signals and think they are cool, but they have there place (When you need to be quiet/sneaky). When you are pinned down I think they know where you are, so verbal communication is much more effective.ogrejager wrote:I picked up my first paintball gun in 1987.

If you've been in cover long enough to say "I've been in cover for a second", it was time to move about 3 seconds ago.
Probing fire / searching fire / grazing fire / suppression fire is great. Use it as ballistic cover, and KEEP MOVING.
