W.A.R.T is hosting a bolt action build off challenge in spirit of our recon/sniper bend to the team.
Rules can be found here ... Bolt Action Challenge

Your contest doesn't care if it's a functional rifle or not. According to what you've posted, it's about "uniqueness". To me, a unique rifle doesn't look like anything else out there. That will mean that those of us who take the time to build weapons that are meant to be fielded are out. I don't care what my bolt action looks like (ok, that's a lie, I love the smooth lines, and sexyness), but a competition for a unique gun will mean that something that is out of the ordinary will get higher points. Our hard work and hours of tuning to get a rifle that will perform as demanded time and again means little to this competition. We (or maybe just me) understand what you want for your contest, we/I'm just saying that it's going to hinder a lot of potential entrants who already built them, or built them to perform.
I knew my entry wouldn't work. I just love looking at it...

Also, the spring-only rule is pretty arbitrary and pointless.

Hard to justify putting out dollars just for a contest. If we spend money on a replica, it must have purpose. We build our rifles to perform, not to look pretty.
That is all.
