Motor Draw

Does anyone know the locked-rotor draw (in amp) on an EG1000 motor?

Strange question, what is the context?

Use an ohm meter to measure the coil resistance. Then it depends on the type of battery and the internal resistance of the battery used to drive it. The current is then just Vbat / (Rbat+Rcoil).

The voltage of the battery isn't constant, though. I suppose you could charge up a battery and take the first measurement to find what the maximum current is, though.

Locked rotor is when the driven machinery (gear box in this case) does not move. The motor will at this point draw it's maximum possible current. A good, safe, estimate for AC motors (fractional and integral hp) is 125% of peak load draw. This will trip your over loads (fuses in our case) early, with less damage to the motor. Anyone know the full load draw?
