On topic:
The PMCs I worked with wore 5.11 tactical pants (khaki), polo shirts (blue with company logos), Oakley sunglasses and gloves, and plate carriers over soft armor. They carried bone-stock M-4s, no optics, no cans, no bipods, no rails, etc. They carried 5 mags for their rifles. They carried M-9's with 2 spare mags in SERPA drop-leg rigs. And a couple of their "heavies" carried M-240Bs.

Off-topic:
Deployed: 700+ days.
Balls hot: 550+ days.
On fire: 0 days.
Wearing UnderArmour t-shirts underneath A2CUs / Nomex flight suits: Every. Single. Day.

Reality Check: When the vehicle ends up upside down and on fire, the gunner is pretty much guaranteed to be meat paste. If the vehicle ends up upside down, the gunner is likely to be meat paste. If the vehicle hits a mine, the gunner is likely to be meat paste. If the vehicle rolls into a canal because the worthless shitbird Navy E-6 who has been in country for 6 weeks and outside the wire never has a blinding attack of stupidity (R.I.P., Sgt. P.), the gunner is likely to be waterlogged meat paste. If the vehicle stops a RPG, the gunner will likely be either meat paste, sliced up by random shrapnel / spall, or be pretty much unscathed, and not on fire. When the vehicle takes small arms fire, the gunner will likely either be completely unscathed, have one or more limb hits, or end up with nasty torso damage from incoming bullets (that are not on fire).

How likely is it that the gunner is going to die solely because his t-shirt got shrink-wrapped into his torso? How likely is it that the gunner will be so miserable because he is sweating his a$$ off that he isn't paying absolute and total attention to his surroundings?

The no-UnderArmour rule seems completely asinine.

So instead of asking what kind of gear I was looking for, I was mainly looking at just the clothes, I know am stuck in a debate between Under Armour or cotton. If I'm on fire I really don't think I am going to give a shit what I am wearing because I will most likely be trying to put it out anyway. (How I get lit on fire I don't really know.)

Google "fat guy with Oakleys and a gun."

That should cover it.

Use underarmor if you want, your not gonna be fighting for real.

no one is going to be shooting RPGs at you at the local airsoft skirm, so if you want to, go for it.

for the PMC kit, youll want tactical pants of some sort, a polo or button up shirt, and plate carrier and chest rig or a plate carrier with molle will do you well.

If you still need more inspiration, go use the something called google, it works bleeding wonders.

I was about to suggest 5.11 tactical but some one beat me too it.

Before I say anything postive about 5.11 I'll have a good rant. I dislike how they've over used the word tactical for their advertising. It drives me nuts. Everything they sell is "TACTICOOL"

"I'm wearing my TACTICOOL pants with my TACTICOOL boots with my TACTICOOL socks!" It just seems silly and obnoxious to me.

They are like the Call of Duty of clothing. "HIGH SPEED SUPER ACTION PANTS WITH UBER FABRIC!..MAKES YOU AMAZING AT TACTICAL STUFF!"

How ever..

It's hard to go wrong with 5.11; it's super pricey but they sell high quality products. I have been buying stuff from them for years and if I had the money I'd buy another 10 pairs of pants from them. Their ripstop pants wear like iron.

Their shirts are very nice, and are very high quality.

You want to pull off the "Pro contract" look. 5.11s will get it done.

I even broke down and got the 5.11 taclite Boots, and I must say that they are some of the most comfortable boots I have worn.

Also their customer service is outstanding.

Tried and failed, or tried and won?

Note the boonie cover, ambidextrous dropleg rigs, tactical shemagh, yellow IR tag on the chest, and modded BDUs (I'm assuming it's Nomex, although it's had the sleeves removed, I'd guess to improve ventilation). Can anyone ID what pistol she has? Looks like some kind of subcompact model, maybe a P232? Note the OD finish on it, as well.

She's probably seen some action, looks like she's had a tooth shot out.

blackwater does not have a uniform so it is hard to tell you what you should wear. If i had any input i would tell you to wear anything you want with a light plate carrier.
I may not be fast but i sure am accurate.

<---- find's it ironic that AF/Army/USMC issues combat uniforms in cotton and forum warriors say "cotton kills".

Also laughs when he considers that active duty firefighters are issued 100% cotton uniforms to comply with NFPA standards relating to flammability of uniform.

Khaki 5.11 pants, black polo and wrap around sun glasses. Everything else is dependant on company and location. Of course, this is based on 7 months in eastern Afghanistan in 2011, so your mileage may vary. Feel free to do as you please, because of course you know better. You're an airsofter, you are all that is tactical.

Synthetic/athletic or underarmor material... "cotton kills"..

You do realize you hectic this backwards, right? synthetic materials are not allowed in combatfor a very good reason.

It's just a saying, obviously not literal. It's just something that I've heard the guy say. And I highly doubt this 17 year old is going to Afghanistan with the kit he's asking for in this thread otherwise I wouldn't recommend clothing that can melt to your skin, even though I've had service members tell me that doesn't really happen ever... At least with non FR gloves. They also make FR clothing that isn't cotton.

How can you guys turn a simple answer ( cargo pants, pollo shirt, plate carrier, Oakley glasses) into 4 pages of crap?
