KWA Mk.2 M1911 Questions

Postby brandon2365 » Fri Mar 01, 2013 11:02 am

Hello, so I'm new to Air-Softing and was wondering what is a good pistol that's CQC tested and what one I should look into getting, this would be my first GBB Ever! And I'm planning on going propane, and what the best option would be, it has to be 350fps and under. I play at OAA and TacOps, because their the closest to me. I'm really tired of little 9 year olds on YouTube telling me what to get. So I'm here asking about a good starter Gas Pistol to start with, and no Co2.:) I was thinking about that KWA Mk.11 M1911, it looks nice but is abit overpriced, something between $90-180 and I prefer the M1911's. Thanks :D

The Mark series are great and dependable. I have had the Mark IV since it was released and it has been a great sidearm. Rugged, dependable. There are a couple items that can be improved, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

I had a MkIV, it's fit and finish are great. But it has several weak points. The slide catch broke twice, the mags are overly expensive, The cold weather gas consumption sucks, but in mild to warm weather it's great. I think it's a little over priced at around $160 new also.

there are several other KWA pistols i would rather have than the 1911 mk series. Not sure if it's due to the single stack mag or not, but the USP compact shot 100 times better than mine ever did. Even my KJW glock is better for gas consumption.

Thanks man I guess I have to take into consideration that the spring that is by the firing hammer comes out quite easy, yet it is also expensive, I'm 16 and its hard to buy stuff when your mother doesn't like replicas hanging around, but I'll lurk on Craigslist for a used GBB or even on here. 160 is a lot of money for a 16 year old working minimum wage :)

Thanks for responding, yes I heard that gas and cold don't mix to well. But I'm going to be playing indoor fields for now until I get decent gear and an apparent "maturity level". I'll just look for decent used pistols around Portland/Happy Valley area. Or save like a broke fag. Thanks ;)

I would avoid buying a used pistol until you have a bit more money just in case something bad happens. Buying new means you get the factory warranty.

I wasn't that big of a fan of the KWA or WE 1911s. The KWA HK45 and USPs are amazing though. I have both and love em.

I like the KWA MK IV, I have not had any issues with it and use it as my primary sidearm.

However with that being said I am an adult and work full time so I can afford to have multiple extra mags. I would go with one of the KWA pistols that has double stack mags so you will get an average of 10 extra bbs per Mag and more gas. More bbs per mag means you will get more shots per mag.

I also like the KWA sig 226 (I know there are those that don’t on this forum), but you could also go with one of the HK pistols that KWA makes as well many members of my team own one and have not had any issues with them.
In the end I would go with what pistol you like the look and feel of, in my opinion you can’t go wrong with any of the KWA pistols.

Thanks, yeah I'll have to look around I was thinking about with some sort of Glock or even a Sig but I'll check out the PP26's

I do have an HK USP Tactical that has operated quite well also. More BB's and a bit more recoil, which is always fun.

IMHO the KWA Glock19 is a great GBB pistol.
